Abstract

Among other things, this Act amends US federal law to require states wishing to retain their qualification for assistance grants with respect to child abuse to have in place certain provisions for responding to the reports of medical neglect, "including instances of withholding of medically indicated treatment from infants with life-threatening conditions." It also instructs the Secretary to establish an Inter-Agency Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect and a national clearing house for information relating to child abuse. See Digest of Public General Bills and Resolutions, 100th Congress, 2nd Session, Vol. 1, pp. 139-140.
