Abstract

The bombing campaign by terrorists in Indonesia was a significant historical event that can be viewed from many perspectives. This paper focuses on the forensic evidence that was discovered during the examinations. It describes the physical and trace evidence, including the chemistry of the explosive mixture used. It describes a diverse range of evidence and acknowledges the important role of the 'general practitioner' for its recognition. The paper also reflects on the importance of 'forensic intelligence' and the need for sensitive information to be disseminated to the general practitioners.
