Abstract

In order to quantitatively analyze the driver's driving fault, provide the theory and model support for traffic safety evaluation on highway. By adopting the qualitative and quantitative research methods, on the base of the analysis of the correlative researches at home and abroad, the calculation method and simplified algorithm for the driving fault rate on the highway was put forward. Based on the human factors fault theory, the calculation model for the driving error rate was established. According to the evolution theory from driving error to driving fault, the driving fault was defined as the section of the driving error which was not corrected, and the concepts of the correction degree and error degree of the driving error were presented, then the calculation model for the driving fault rate was established. Based on the highway traffic conditions and safety characteristics, a simplified algorithm for the driving fault rate was proposed. The results show that the method is feasible, and has important theoretical and practical significance for improving the safety level, service capability and driving efficiency of highway traffic system.
