Abstract

The article discusses the provisions of Federal Juvenile and Delinquency Act (FJDA) and case laws relating to FJDA. It presents information on the U.S. Supreme Court's decisions that recognize the need of juvenile offenders for rehabilitation, and examines its significance by analyzing a psychological phenomenon known as self-fulfilling prophecy. It provides information on the role of rehabilitation in juvenile recidivism.
