Abstract

Discusses the shared goals of public health personnel and law enforcement officials in the United States. Idea that methods used by either profession are inherently different, but the objective of protecting citizens is the same; Four examples of serving the public through collegiality and cooperation in responding to terrorism/bioterrorism, "Project Safe Neighborhood" gun violence initiative, drug trafficking and abuse, and human trafficking; The author's thoughts on making a difference in communities and the purpose of the conference.
