Abstract

The authors regret that "Worldwide highway crash statistics worldwide show that about 1.24 billion people are killed per year, with over 20-50 billion people injured, costing over $500 billion in total."

The above statement should rather be, "Worldwide, highway crash statistics show that about 1.24 million people are killed per year, with over 20-50 million people injured, costing over $500 billion in total."
