Abstract

Childhood sexual abuse is an easily avoided topic. Its very nature demands secrecy. Perpetrators frighten, extort, and cajole children into silence. Sexually abused children do not have the words to explain their experiences because of their confusion and fear and their lack of understanding about sex. So, it is hard for children to tell about being sexually abused.
