Abstract

In order to investigate the changing regularity of throw distance of moped and cyclist in traffic accident, on the basis of verification on the feasibility of simulation method and the effectiveness of numerical model, accident reconstruction is conducted with software PC-Crash and MADYMO on 37 vehicle-moped crash cases chosen from CIDAS data base. The results show that the throw distances of moped and cyclist increase with the rise of impact speed, in which the increase tendency for moped is more significant. When vehicle impact speed is lower than 30km/h, the throw distance of moped is shorter than that of cyclist, while with a impact speed higher than 30km/h, the throw distance of moped is longer than that of cyclist. © 2016, Society of Automotive Engineers of China.
