Abstract

This document amends 29 CFR 1903.7 to expressly authorize compliance officers to use personal sampling devices and to attach such devices to employees during the conduct of workplace inspections. This amendment is necessitated by conflicting judicial decisions as to whether the present regulation provides sufficient authorization for OSHA to use personal sampling devices.
