Abstract

Asthma is a known risk factor for suicide-related behaviors in adolescents.(1) In particular, an association between asthma and suicidal behaviors has been reported in US high school students(2) and Taiwanese(3) adolescents. However, most previous studies have used self-reported questionnaires to determine whether asthma was present(2) , and others used hospital registries.(3) Moreover, the role of potential confounders has not been fully investigated.
