Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of life-respect consciousness on suicidal risk, aggression and meaning in life and to explore the effect of Life-respect Program on them. The subjects were some middle schools students in Daegu. The sheets of questionnaires were handed out to 630 students in these schools, and 464 sheets among them were analyzed. And 16 students(who were given high scores of aggression scale suicidal risk scale) participated in this study to examine the influence of program based on life-respect, 8 students(randomly) among whom took part in Life-respect Program and the other 8 students did not participate in any program during the same period. The influence of life-respect consciousness on each variable was found. If a student has higher life-respect consciousness, he or she will have higher level of meaning in life and have lower level of suicidal risk and aggression. There were a positive correlation between life-respect consciousness and meaning in life, a negative correlation between life-respect consciousness and suicidal risk, and also a negative correlation life-respect consciousness and aggression. In secondary analysis, simple regression analysis analyzed each variable. The influence of life-respect consciousness was proved. Therefore, it is possible to predict levels of suicidal risk, aggression and meaning in life by the level of life-respect consciousness. The influence of life-respect program was also proved. This program based on life-respect can decrease suicidal risk, aggression, and increase life-respect consciousness and meaning in life. These findings indicate Life-respect Program has effects on control levels of life-respect consciousness, suicidal risk, aggression and meaning in life. Therefore, Life-respect Program will be helpful in decreasing suicidal risk, aggression, and increasing life-respect consciousness, meaning in life, I think it's better to consider life-respect consciousness variable in counseling, education and other program for middle school students who have gone through a series of problems in suicidal risk and aggression.


본 연구의 목적은 생명존중의식이 자살위험성과 공격성, 삶의 의미에 미치는 영향을 알
아보고, 생명존중프로그램의 효과를 알아보고자 한다. 중학생 464명을 연구대상으로 자료는
SPSS Statistics 19.0 통계 프로그램을 사용하여 분석하였다. 생명존중의식과 자살위험성, 공
격성, 삶의 의미간의 관계를 알아보기 위해서 상관분석을, 생명존중의식이 자살위험성, 공격
성, 삶의 의미에 미치는 영향력을 살펴보기 위해 회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 생명존중의식과
삶의 의미와는 정적상관, 자살위험성과 공격성과는 부적 상관을 보여 모두 유의미한 상관을
보였다. 생명존중의식의 영향력을 살펴보기 위한 회귀분석에서는 생명존중의식이 자살위험
성, 공격성, 삶의 의미에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 영향력이 검증된 생명존
중의식을 주요기반으로 생명존중 프로그램을 구안하여 중학생에게 실시한 결과, 생명존중
프로그램은 생명존중의식을 높이고 공격성을 낮추는데 유의미한 효과가 나타났으며, 자살위
험성과 삶의 의미의 몇몇 하위요인에서 유의미한 효과를 나타냈다. 자살위험성 혹은 공격성
이 높거나 삶의 의미를 잃은 학생들에게 치료와 예방적 차원의 다양한 활동을 실시할 때 생
명존중의 요인을 포함하여 구성한다면 생명존중의식의 함양을 통해 청소년들의 자살위험성
과 공격성을 줄이면서 삶의 의미를 찾는데 기여할 수 있을 것이라는 시사점을 얻었다.
