Abstract

A “multiple strand approach involving a range of partners across different sectors” is needed to tackle violent crime in England and Wales, says the first strategy aimed at reducing serious violence.

Amber Rudd, the home secretary, said that the government’s response “to violent crime must address the misuse of drugs” as a priority.

Speaking about the main drivers behind violent crime, she explained: “There is a strong link between drugs and violent crime.”
