Abstract

Earthquakes are a devastating phenomena of nature, causing significant destruction and extensive damage. Most earthquake-related injuries result from collapsing buildings, flying debris, and falling objects. Medical imaging modalities, in particular digital radiography, computed tomography, and sonography, are used to help manage and treat patients injured during an earthquake. Therefore, health care providers, including radiologic technologists, must be aware of the imaging considerations associated with earthquake-related injuries.
