Abstract

The word injury derives from the Latin injuria meaning a wrong. Applied to both physical and psychological wounds, it is now used as a label for the impact that a moral and ethical dilemma might have on an individual's wellbeing. Although the term moral injury is relatively recent, examples can readily be found in the aftermath of past conflicts.
