Abstract

The work thematizes the formation and classical theoretical concepts of sociology of sexuality. Declassification of essentialism along with theoretical emphasis of its historicity and cultural relativism is the condition of possibility for sociological thought to place this natural phenomenon in the focus of scientific attention. However, the predominant constructionist explication of cultural and historical mutuality of sex and sexuality constitutes a relatively closed theoretical perspective.
