Abstract

After the Newtown, Connecticut mass murder, anti-rights politicians and media shifted into high gear. The only "solution" for such a tragedy was another gun ban. Within two days, Senator Dianne Feinstein introduced her version. Pundits like Washington Post's Ezra Klein politicized the tragedy, claiming America is an unusually violent place, and the only answer is more gun control. There's only one problem with all their hyperbole: It's based upon myth and manipulated data. 1. Fiction 1: Armed Resistance Doesn't Stop Mass Murders2. Fiction 2: Gun Control Eliminates 'Dangerous Guns' While Protecting the Second Amendment3. Fiction 3: 'Gun Violence' 4. Fiction 4: Gun Control Will Make You Safer5. Fiction 5: Gun Ownership is Declining6. Fiction 6: The U.S. Is One of the Most Violent Countries7. Fiction 7: Gun Control Reduces Mass Murders8. Fiction 8: Gun Control Advocates Care About People
