Abstract

This article reports the rare case of suicide carried out with the use of the firearm. Subject K. suffered three mortal wounds he inflicted to himself by shooting from the 9.0 mm 'Viking' pistol when performing training exercises at a shooting range of DOSAAF (Russian abbreviation for the Volunteer Society for Cooperation with the Army, Aviation, and Navy). The case is of special interest in the context of forensic medical expertise because it clearly shows the occurrence of the suicidal events in the practical work of the forensic medical experts in which the victim himself makes damages that are at first sight impossible to make of one's own free will.
