Abstract

When developing urban transport routes, it is necessary to evaluate parameters of route networks with respect to conflicts at pick-up and drop-off points on various routes. Conflicts lead to time losses for all participants of the logistics process, have a negative impact on its safety and increase transportation costs.According to an analysis of scientific works on the subject, issues of reduction in the number of conflicts in route networks have not been sufficiently explored. There are no substantiated methods to resolve the problem, which would improve the performance of route vehicles under the conditions of the existing "gap" between the automobilization level and the urban transport infrastructure development level. Therefore, development of a simulation model for the evaluation of conflicts at stops is relevant from the scientific and practical points of view. A simulation model of vehicle traffic on adjacent "converging" and "diverging" routes is developed for the evaluation of possible conflicts at shared stops. It considers dynamic characteristics of vehicles as well as parameters of routes and stops. This model will allow evaluating quantitative characteristics of conflicts at stops. To decrease the conflict rate of the urban route network, a model optimizing network parameters through distribution of vehicles of various types by routes given full satisfaction of population demands for public transportation is developed.

RESULTS of modeling conflicts at stops are characterized by a positive social and economic effect, can be used for the evaluation of conflicts at particular stops of the route network as well as for management decision-making regarding reconstruction of individual route network infrastructure facilities or route network optimization.
