Abstract

High rates of urbanization and the growth of the number of metropolitan cities leads to the growth of the necessity for transportation of people and cargo. The attempts to solve the problem of mobility by using personal transport lead to the growth of automobilization. It is reflected adversely on the security of transport systems of cities. One of the ways to solve this problem is a part of the concept of a Smart City. Smart Mobility is one of the main directions of development of its transport system. At that, together with intellectualization of control one more question is being solved: transfer to more secure, stable and pure types of transport, such as bicycles. Its democratic nature and availability, cheapness and environmental friendliness, and the fact that it promotes the healthy way of life are the reasons of popularity of this transport. At the same time bicyclers, as well as pedestrians, are the least protected category of road users. Measures to ensure the safety of road traffic are usually aimed either at prevention of accidents or, if it's impossible, at the reduction of severity of consequences. From our point of view the most important thing is developing measures for prevention of road accidents. Organizational and management solutions are often very effective at little cost. Thus, one of such methods is choosing safe routes. At the present time there are multiple navigational systems and route planners. Cartographic information is used in these systems and that helps to construct possible variants of routes between points A and B. However these routes are not assessed from the point of view of their security. At the same time there is statistics of road accidents which gives us the opportunity to find the most dangerous sections of road network. One of the possible system alternatives of assessment of the route security for different types of road traffic participants is described in the article. The developed system is based on multifactorial information analysis. Characteristics of different sections of road network as well as data on road traffic accidents are used for evaluating the levels of security of road sections. Correction factors enable taking into account the peculiarities of each type of road users. The developed algorithm is implemented as a computer application.
