Abstract

The current arms race harms all Americans. Children are most adversely affected by federal cutbacks in time-honored programs. By fueling an everexpanding arms race, we are mortgaging the nation's future. Health care professionals have a moral responsibility to alert the public regarding the consequences of recent federal policies for our most vulnerable citizens.
