Abstract

Sales of alcohol in Scotland have fallen to their lowest recorded level in the year since the price of cheap drinks was increased to curb the harm caused by alcohol.

Although it is too early to draw clear conclusions about the effect of minimum unit pricing, the figures on alcohol sales are being seen as positive.
