Abstract

The aim of the survey carried out on Cracow's students was to determine the characteristics of alcohol consumption in different institutes. The survey was carried out in 2004 by means of a diagnostic survey on 450 students. No significant differences were found between different institutes, though there was a significant difference between female and male consumption levels. Beer is the most commonly consumed alcohol among students. 84.8% of the students admitted drinking beer. Another analyzed element was the frequency of alcohol use. The students of the Cracow University of Technology drink alcohol most frequently. They drink the most alcohol of all types as well as have the highest percentage of declared drinkers. To sum up, the alcohol use among students is very high.
