Abstract

We would like to thank Sauaia and colleagues for their thoughtful commentary on our article, “Wounding Patterns Based on Firearm Type in Civilian Public Mass Shootings in the United States.” We wholeheartedly agree with the points raised by these authors. As noted in our article, our inability to obtain autopsy results on all of the events, and the fact that we did not have information on firearm type for the events for which we had autopsy results are key limitations of the article. We therefore call on our policy makers to create systems that will facilitate this type of research...
