Abstract

Suicide is a devasting public health problem that is estimated to be 20-30 times greater in patients with bipolar disorder.1 Identification of risk factors is a critical step in the prevention and development of targeted interventions for suicide. Two critical areas implicated in the elevated risk of suicide behavior in bipolar disorder are altered cognitive processing and associated emotional dysregulation.
