Abstract

This paper describes part of a lengthy investigation into driver gap-acceptance behavior which has involved observations of the 'real-life' situations and which was conducted with the prime aim of finding which of the two behavior models was the more realistic. Gap-acceptance data were obtained in two novel ways which are described.
