Abstract

In the 75 years since the first reported motor vehicle death, more than one million people have died as a result of auto crashes. Millions more have been injured and the costs of traffic crashes now exceed $40 billion each year. In looking at such statistics, it is important to realize that alcohol, though it may be the drug of greatest abuse in our society, is not the only drug to contribute to this tragic scenario.
