Abstract

An unusual number of cases of chilblains has mainly been reported in Southern Europe (Italy, Spain, France) and in the US during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the link of causality between those two events remains debated. Herman et al suggested that confinement and lockdown restrictions with decreased physical activity, increased time spent in sedentary positions, use of recreation drugs, and remaining barefoot or in socks at home may be related to the symptoms.
