Abstract

Gun violence remains a public health issue that continues to affect tens, perhaps hundreds, of thousands of Americans annually. Within the community of trauma surgeons, increased effort and attention has been turned to the opportunities surgeons have for prevention of firearm injury and the humanistic care of trauma patients.
