Abstract

5 active male, 5 active female, 5 inactive male, and 5 inactive female Ss were given the rod-and-frame test. Unexpectedly, no significant sex differences were found. The difference between active and inactive Ss showed the inactive Ss had more difficulty in adjusting the rod to true verticality on the 1 trial given. Data suggest physically inactive Ss may be more dependent on the visual field than the active Ss.
