Abstract

According to the existing literature self-immolation especially among young married illiterate women occurs with a high rate in India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran and the Kurdish Regions of Iraq. Looking at the geographical map of the world highlights that these countries are all located within Asia and have common borders with each other. In this article I observe that in the current world we are facing a geographical belt of self-immolation and we should try exploring the social issues/phenomena causing this.
