Abstract

Pipeline leakage can cause severe hazards and pose significant risks, and leakage detection ensures the operational safety of the pipeline. In this paper, the simultaneous increase in the noise intensity signal of the pipeline wall and the pressure gradient of the flow field in the pipeline were regarded as critical during the leakage detection process. A novel noise-pressure interaction model based on multi-information fusion processing was proposed based on the cross-correlation algorithm of two signals. The interaction model contributed as a gate function to filter the interference signal, the dual-channel signals supported each other, and avoided the false alarms produced by the leakage detection system of a single sensor. Our results indicated that the proposed leakage location algorithm with a single point and multiple signals can prevent the time synchronization and the signal transmission delay problem, showing a better applicability for industrial use. © 2021 Elsevier
