Abstract

Compared to a historical control group, an increased prevalence of left hand preference was found in a population of patients having traumatic brain injuries. The data support the hypothesis that left-handed individuals may be more likely to experience accidents, particularly those involving motor vehicles. There are also implications for prediction of outcome after head trauma.
