Abstract

With the transformation of highway tunnels from the high-speed construction period to the construction and management period in China, reversible jet fans are widely used in tunnel ventilation systems. In order to explore the influence of the reversible jet fan ventilation operation mode on personnel evacuation in tunnel fire, based on the Guangdong Mountain Tunnel,this paper studies the characteristics of smoke, temperature, CO volume fraction and visibility under different jet fan operation modes with heat release rate of 5 MW and 20 MW in the central area of the tunnel. The results show that the stratified structure of flue gas and air is destroyed by natural wind and jet fan. Under the influence of 1 m/s longitudinal natural wind inside the tunnel, the operation mode of jet fan and evacuation direction of personnel should be changed in the face of different power fire sources.
