Abstract

A careful review of overall statistics of road accidents reveals a particular vulnerability of young drivers in the 16 to 25 age bracket (which might be broadened) a.o. in industrialised countries, leading to losses of human lives or impairment of body integrity. The possible causes of this statistical peculiarity are listed, and means to remedy them are suggested while underlining that emergency medical intervention based on zone partitioning, saves lives and reduces the after-effects.
