Abstract

According to traffic conditions in developing cities like Xi'an, China, the defects of the two existing methods for measuring pedestrian delays at crosswalks are identified and a new method is proposed on the basis of the existing methods. The basic idea of the new method is to decide how to measure a pedestrian's delay according to his/her characteristics and divide a crosswalk several segments.
