Abstract

Reducing deaths and disability from injury will require pervasive and successful injury prevention efforts in both community and clinical settings. Examples of interventions in the clinical setting include access to and instruction on using safety products, and screening and brief interventions for alcohol problems, intimate partner violence, or child maltreatment.

The objectives of this study were to identify and describe injury prevention programs used in emergency departments in one state, to describe facilitators to implementation of these programs, and to suggest ways for overcoming barriers.
