Abstract

The need to describe and score injuries in traumatized patients is of obvious importance in the clinical study of trauma. We have spent several man years developing a computer program, IS90SCOR (for Injury Severity 90 Score Program), which allows for the consistent description of injuries and the mechanical scoring of: Injury Severity Score (ISS 90), Organ Injury Scale, Physiologic Derangement (TS, RTS), and Projected Outcome (PS, ASCOT). It is our belief that this program will speed data entry, enhance scoring accuracy, and allow rapid ad hoc queries of a database which contains the above information. We hope that it will be of use to other institutions studying the clinical aspects of human trauma.
