Aims and Scope (from publisher): The Journal of the National Academy of Forensic Engineers (JotNAFE) is a technical academic journal (ISSN #2379-3252) published twice per year by the National Academy of Forensic Engineers (NAFE). We are part of the Open Access Journal initiative to participate in the world-wide effort to increase the visibility, accessibility, reputation, usage and impact of quality, peer-reviewed, open access scholarly research journals, regardless of discipline, geography or language. The objectives of our Journal include nurturing forensic engineering as a distinct body of knowledge, advancing the ethical and professional practice of forensic engineering, serving academy members, and furthering the development of forensic engineers through education and the publication of peer-reviewed technical literature. The Journal publishes papers on forensic engineering topics including: engineering principles and methodologies; critical analysis of case studies; specific cases that demonstrate forensic engineering best practices or new technology; or cases critically illustrating non-technical professional considerations such as ethics, standards compliance, investigative procedures, legal admissibility, and jurisdictional considerations.
