Aims and Scope (from publisher): The biquarterly Journal of Subcontinent Researches is published by the University of Sistan and Baluchestan, Zahedan. This refereed journal has an internationally composed board of editors and welcomes articles on various aspects of Indian subcontinent countries (India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh) such as literature, art, religion, education, politics, economics, history, geography, archeology, sociology, anthropology. The journal is published both as a web resource with open access on the web page of the journal and as a printed publication. The aim is that it will appear four times a year.

Indian subcontinent with over one and a half billion people, with four million and four hundred thousand square kilometers, having more than 236 million Muslims, being adjacent to the homeland and our province, and sharing the commonalities of race, ethnic, history and culture with Iran is a very sensitive and strategic area in Asia. Unfortunately, despite the existence of deep ethnic, linguistic, historical and cultural ties between the two nations, there hasn’t been done any profound academic investigation for better understanding of the subcontinent in our country. In order to fulfill this scientific objective, USB has established this research institute on 20 February 2002. The Institute has four academic fields of "culture and civilization", "Business and Economics", "ethnicity and religion", and "popular culture and language" which research in the field of various issues related to the sub-continent.
