Abstract

In medical practice today, it is frequent to meet with lesions caused by gunshot wounds, consequence to the violence and insecurity of our current society. Likewise, with more frequency they are lesions caused by sophisticated armament that alone it was used in battle fields, today in day, that battle field is developed daily in our big urban centers and rural areas. It is essential prescribe of first contact medical care it possesses elementary notions on warlike weapons of current use and the type of wounds that can cause, for the treatment and prevention of complications. Due to the extension of this topic so important in the exercise of the profession, it has been divided in two parts, the first one that treats the foundations of the ballistics of effects on the production of lesions and the second that it emphasizes clinical rules better diagnose and treatment of the gunshot wounds.
