Abstract

In this study a survey has been developed to determine psychological problems caused by noise in workers in noisy environments. The survey were applied in five different workplaces (10 persons textile workers, bar staff 10 people, 12 people in the mechanical workshop workers, 12 people and 10 people police motorcycle driver), a total of 54 people between the ages of 21 and 45. In this study the psychological effects of noise were not evaluated individually, a general discomfort score was obtained. In this study discomfort scores were found between 13 and 52. The point of 13 is for people who are not uncomfortable with noise and 52 for the people that are most uncomfortable with noise. The average score for the total noise in the survey group was 31.83 ± 8.61. The group with the highest discomfort score was motorcycle-riding police officers (P <0.001). Textile and bar workers obtained the least discomfort scores (P <0.001).
