Abstract

Based on seismic failure of Xiaoyudong Bridge across Xiaoyudong fault zone in Wenchuan earthquake, multi-support excitation numerical model for dynamic analysis of the bridge was established after investigating the post-earthquake field. Considering the difference of earthquake intensities in both sides of the fault zone, artificial earthquake waves were simulated by trigonometric series method with different seismic peak accelerations. Next, the seismic failure numerical analysis is carried out, and the weak areas of seismic failure and their reasons are discussed. Numerical simulation results embody the actual failure conditions of Xiaoyudong Bridge on the whole, and demonstrate the validity of the analysis model.
