Abstract

In April of 1992 the German Red Army Faction issued a communique announcing that it would, with some conditions, lay down its arms in the fight for communism. This marked the end of the armed struggle for groups all over Europe and in particular signaled the move from military to political for the remaining active members of Italy's Red Brigade. The interview that follows was conducted in May 1992 with one of the last free column commanders of the Red Brigade's Strategic Command.
