Abstract

This exploratory research investigates the perception of the millennials on the Autonomous Vehicle (AV) technology in order to understand the relationship between tech-fluency and the positive view about the AV technology. While generational differences have always existed, millennials have distinctive qualities that are intrinsically embedded into their behavior. Using an exploratory survey, this study examines general sentiments regarding the various elements of AV technology. The results indicate that while both millennial and non-millennial generation cohorts indeed share common sentiments toward AVs, a majority of the issues presented by this study show an ultimate dichotomy between the two generational cohorts.
