Abstract

Aerodynamic steady flow simulations for One-Box type automobiles in crosswind conditions are carried out using the k–[epsilon] turbulence model and a third-order upwind scheme with modified production method. The factor of yawing moment is observed and an effective device (Crosswind Spoiler) for reducing yawing moment is found by these numerical results. Experimental verifications in wind tunnel and on road tests are also presented.
