Abstract

A newsletter adds a dimension that meets many needs, whether it is for an activity leaders' organization, a nursing home, or a senior citizens' center. Taking on the editorship of a newsletter or starting one from scratch need not be shunned for lack of experience. This article leads the amateur journalist into the stimulating routine of producing a newsletter, starting with original purpose, through decisions on content that will speak to the readership, and into how to gather material, write and edit, prepare the dummy, plan layout, type the final copy, and manage circulation.
