Abstract

There appears to be little material published on the topic of post-impact deceleration for vehicles involved in angular collisions. During post-impact movement, a vehicle may have both translational and rotational velocities. It would be desirable to have a mathematical process to identify a reasonable deceleration value. The ideal method would be easy enough to be worked on a calculator or graphically demonstrated to a jury. There may be computer programs written to address this issue.
