Abstract

Anti-lock braking system (ABS) has become a standard configuration for vehicles. We created a virtual environment to approximate the external conditions for ABS by using ABS dynamic simulation test stand. The kinetic energy of the vehicle is equivalent to the kinetic energy of the flywheel with the moment of inertia corresponding to the inertia of 1/4 vehicle. Adjustments of different vehicles are performed by a physical change to the flywheel. It can simulate various road friction coefficients by setting the exciting current of the magnetic clutch. The exciting current of magnetic clutch corresponds to the road friction coefficient, so as to provide a basis for testing the working status of ABS under various road conditions. The accuracy of the road simulation method can be verified by the real-time data from the user interface.
