Abstract

Automobile accidents at cross intersections constitute a large subset of all traffic crashes. Many of the crashes are right angle collisions, they involve vehicles having approached from are the orthogonal directions. Although fault for initiating the accident frequency may easily be assigned, this does not always ensure that the resulting accident was inevitable; that is, by performing some evasive action, the drivers might have avoided the crash. Game theory provides a unique tool for determining good strategies that will avoid an accident or minimize the severity of the resulting crash.
