Abstract

Childhood bullying continues to be a serious threat to the physical and emotional health of children and adolescents in the United States. This article provides the prevalence and general information about bullying as well as the common characteristics of bullies and victims, the short- and long-term consequences of bullying, and the recommendations of various organizations, which can help health care providers to assess and provide interventions to children affected by bullying.
